The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a social service program for students in India to foster social responsibility and community engagement. NSS was launched in 1969 to create a sense of social consciousness, solidarity, and dignity among students.

Students & Staffs of Nootan Bharati Vidhyalay had participated in base camp of NSS.

To Develop Personal Skills: NSS provides a platform for personal development by promoting leadership skills, organizational abilities, and social skills among students. It also aims to develop a sense of responsibility towards society and nurture the spirit of volunteerism. Total 30 volunteers had participated in NSS Special Camp 2023 at Samdhi (Motavas) Primary School. Period of Camp : 23-02-2023 to 01-03-2023.

History

The scheme is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and is implemented by the State and Union Territories’ NSS Cell. NSS volunteers work towards community service in health, education, environment, and rural development. NSS activities include tree plantation, blood donation camps, awareness campaigns, and community service projects in rural areas.

The program also provides opportunities for personal development and leadership training, with NSS volunteers encouraged to take responsibility for planning and implementing social service projects. Participation in NSS is voluntary, and students can enrol in the program for two years during their undergraduate or postgraduate studies.

NSS provides a platform for students to work for the betterment of society while gaining practical experience and developing interpersonal skills. NSS alumni have made significant contributions to society in various fields and continue to inspire others to serve the community.
